This year’s 16th Annual Feeding of the Multitude (FOTM) will again be a drive-through event. Once again, approximately 25-30 churches are working together to serve our community. Each family will receive the ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal for a family of four. The drive-through bag pick-up will take place at Haut Gap Middle School, 1861 Bohicket Rd. on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 12 to 3 PM.  We will also have prayer opportunities and deliver cooked meals to home-bound Island residents. That operation will be out of Faith Lutheran Church. In addition, we will provide children’s goodie bags, and Pet Helpers/Charleston Animal Society will again provide pet food and information on spaying and neutering.

We hope that all members of the St. John’s family will be involved. We hope to give out 1400 bags of groceries and 1200 Food Lion Gift cards (instead of turkeys). We will also deliver approximately 200 cooked meals to home=bound Island residents. Here's how you can help.

• First and most important, we need your prayers! We have given the Feeding to the charge of the Holy Spirit. The mission of FOTM is simple:
  • To ensure that every family on Johns and Wadmalaw Islands has a Thanksgiving meal.
  • To have all involved with the FOTM know that they are loved by Jesus and the Church.
  • To Help Him grow the Kingdom by serving, sharing and shining as Christians.
    
    
• We need folks to sign up to donate bags or be Neighborhood Captains, reaching out to neighbors, coworkers, bible study groups, family members, etc. The flyer that explains the Feeding and lists the grocery items is in E-news, on our Church website and will be available at church services.
  • People can also donate to the Feeding to help pay for food and other expenses. Please write a check payable to Live Oak Church. On Memo line, write “Feeding of the Multitude.” Mail to PO Box 122, John’s Island, SC 29457.  Please do NOT write a check to St. John’s Parish for FOTM. You can also give to the FOTM Restricted fund through the Live Oak Church website https://www.liveoakji.org/partner. Be sure to put in your e-mail address so that you can receive a tax statement and thank you note.
    
    
• We need volunteers to sign up early to work the week of the event or the day of the event, and we need prayer warriors who will be on the phones praying with people who call in for prayer.
  
  
• If you want to donate pet food or supplies, they will be given away at the drive-through event.
